Artist Statement
The ability to bring my imagination into reality is what I genuinely love about being an artist. Creating my art sends me into another world, a place of serenity where nothing else matters. My goal is to create artwork that inspires people to let go of reality and explore the depths of their imagination.
I create many different styles of art that tend to be realistic in the layout, but extremely bright and imaginative in color. Mapping out a plan of action is the first and most important step in my process. I always begin a piece by brainstorming ideas and choosing a color scheme and then sketch the idea onto paper. I then decide which media is the best for that particular piece of art. I am a perfectionist. If a piece does not satisfy my expectations, I continue working with it until it does. My inherent strength as an artist is my ability to adapt. As a commissioned artist, I am able to create unique pieces in different medias to accommodate the desired styles of my clients.
Every person has something that they are truly passionate about and for me that is art. I put my heart and soul into every piece. I want others to feel my emotions through my work and to see a part of who I am represented in it. I hope to continue growing as an artist and as a person while I share my artwork with the world.
Art is a process that begins in the heart and mind and ends with the eyes and hands (Jeff Melvoin).
